This Friday I’ll probably swing by a Halloween party on campus, see some old friends…but this will be the 2nd time I might go without a costume. Why so? i wouldn’t want to go as anything clichéd like when I went as Neo from The Matrix a few years ago…every other guy was Neo and their costumes made mines look like a cheap knock-off. The worst costume i had on was when i went “supposedly” as James Bond…instead i looked like an accountant who just got fired.

So what will I pull off this year? I’ll probably color my hair and douse some people with silly string as a backup plan…sure it’s a cop-out, but I haven’t had the time to invest in a good outfit, and if I did go as something clichéd, there’s bound to be someone else who’ll probably out-costume me by wearing the same thing, only better…and i wont like that.
My top costume ideas:
- Jay and Silent Bob (i’d be Jay, Kevin would be Silent Bob)
The runner ups
1. a pirate/ninja (those who know me will know why, lol)
2. a pimp (but without any hoes, it defeats the purpose)
3. a NY Mets ballplayer (nah, drunken/angry yankee fans would beat the ever-loving shit out of me)

we’ll see what happens..so now, I feel like ending this post off with a poetic twist…er…women still dig that sort of thing right Abner?

Leave it to fate to give me 9.5 minutes to get ready
Either way, it was all worth it…though I wished I had time to shave
Never did I realize we’d rendezvous in such short notice
Now I know that it helps to be spontaneous sometimes
You made this doc’s day very valuable…and I thank you

some luck

sorry for the lack of anything…the Digital Life Expo was a blast, and despite having to service kevin’s macbook, it did not put a dent on our weekend (and we didnt get lost thanks to the awesome power of Melissa’s GPS thingy).  Everything from ZDnet’s after party, to Jason’s saltine cracker bombardment, to Joe helping me get over a certain someone, to Mel’s “borrowing” of Sega signs, to Abner’s yo-yos, Rich’s PSP, Kev’s white paperweight, and Tiffany’s diplomat status.  Big thanks to ZDnet, Jim, Pat, Rob, and Rog for the after party (especially Rog for the interview as well as his macbook-reviving skills).  I’ll put the pics up as soon as i actually get a connection.

Yup, last monday my internet sputtered so i called the bastards at Time Warner and requested a technician and they give me an appointment for next Monday…i was pissed.  So once fixed, i’m demanding proper reimbursement for a service i paid for.  But whatev, it was fixed today…good enough for me.

Then as the icing on a cake of crap, the mets lose…that was shocking.  But after some sleep i realized that (if anything) we gave it our all.  I’m also a strong believer of karma…so i’m putting any remaining efforts on the Detroit Tigers to win (sans Kenny).  I know there are a ton of fans from other teams happy to see the Mets lose…some have reasons that are justified, others are simply full of it.  I know some friends who are fans of the Cardinals, Yankees, and Dodgers and they are actually cool and learn to accept defeat if it applies…but lets analyze those who arent shall we?

…for some of the Dodger fans who say:

“haha, you losers got hosed, karma!”

my response would be:

“the mets owned you all on your home turf in the divison series…so be quiet and return to your nine-iron.”

…for some of the Cardinal fans who say:

“booyah, we beat the new yawkers! thats for beating us in 2000!”

my response would be:

“big whoop…you guys played dirty ball…what goes around, comes around.”

for some of the Yankee fans who say:

“haha!! you mets never win, y’all are a bunch of looh-sers!”

my response would be:

“…shit happens…but the Mets lost giving it their all. The Yankees were eliminated by Detroit…no effort, no force…nothing.  sorry, but you guys lost, and terribly if I may add.  So instead of talking shit to other teams, why not take your fustration to ‘ol Steinbrenner?  Tell the old coot to get some new players rather than keeping the same old ones, because they’re probably as good as hood ornaments rather than actual ballplayers.  Take a look at why the mets got this far and then you’ll realize why as fans, you need to encourage your Boss to make major changes.  Focus on team pride, not team arrogance.”

So despite our loss, I realize that the Mets have now earned a newfound respect amongst the baseball community.  No more are they just some 2-bit team a few years back where losing was the norm.  This season they have proved that they aren’t a squad to screw with…they held our heads up high.  So in the end, it wasn’t a total loss.
